Live streaming magic,
no matter the category, travel, games, or others, when there's no content left, just eat broadcasts. The effect is pretty good.
This is the primal desire, and no one can stop it.
In the television era, watching TV shopping, some might think it's silly, paying for cable TV and still wanting to spend more money on buying things.
Years later, some people feel unlucky for not buying or missing out, thinking, "Tomorrow I'll set a time to shop on my phone, don't believe the money won't be spent?"
I haven't eaten sugarcane in a year; the last time was during the New Year, at my child's aunt's grandfather's house. After dinner, the grandfather, who is from Hubei, took out sugarcane, and no one ate it, so I chatted with him while we ate sugarcane.
I estimate I haven't had it in about ten years. I used to eat it as a child.
This time, Meituan wasn't expensive; it was about 8.99 for five pounds. I bought it back, four or five pieces, short ones, wrapped in plastic wrap. The color was purple-black with a hint of white inside.
In the evening, when I had time, I asked my family if they wanted to eat. I didn't peel it, and no one wanted to eat it. I used my teeth to slowly tear the sugarcane skin. I specifically washed the sugarcane, but when I tore the skin with my teeth, small white pieces still fell off. I didn't investigate further; I found it quite laborious to eat a small section, and it felt a bit selfish. This way of eating only pleased me; the kids thought it was troublesome and didn't want to eat.
The kids' mom started peeling it. She was using a plastic peeler, which was quite laborious. I saw and hurriedly suggested she switch to an all-metal one; the sugarcane skin is quite tough. It was hard to handle; the kids' mom squatted on the ground next to the trash can. By the time I finished one section, she was still peeling. I saw her being cautious, so it was slow. I said I would try, and I found that indeed, if you don't use enough force, the sugarcane skin won't come off. If you use too much force, the skin flies off uncontrollably. So I decided not to squat or use the trash can; I stood up in the kitchen in an open space and started peeling, like making knife-cut noodles, peeling vigorously. The skin sometimes flew about 1.5 meters away. I tried not to let it fly too far; it definitely wouldn't land like the knife-cut noodles into the pot, as that area is too small. My large pot is about 1.5*1.5m, so at this speed, I finished peeling quickly.
I cut a section for the kids, but they still couldn't eat it, especially the second child, who only had loose front teeth and didn't dare to bite down. I thought about it and cut the sugarcane directly into the size of sugar cubes, ready to chew. The second child found it quite tasty but needed to spit out the pulp. After eating one section, he didn't want any more. Then I came to clean up.
After eating, I also looked at how various countries on Bilibili handle sugarcane skin and checked the juice yield of sugarcane, which is 80-90%. That's quite high; I feel my teeth's mechanical efficiency might still be too low. I think my biting force and suction power shouldn't be that low.
In the end, I found a way to measure the juice yield of the sugarcane I ate.
Since I removed the skin, the value should be a bit lower than what I measured.
I measured the total amount of sugarcane before eating, then measured the remaining weight after biting one piece.
After chewing in my mouth, I measured the weight of the pulp I spat out. Then I calculated to get the approximate juice yield.
