Mycoplasma Autonomy Process in Children

Warning#

This treatment succeeded by chance; both healing and investing carry risks—one can be fatal, the other can lead to financial loss. Caution is paramount.

Introduction#

Recording is creation. This article is recorded on Obsidian on my phone. Initially, I planned to copy it to Simplenote for synchronization with the browser, but I found that plugins can also be installed on the mobile version of Obsidian, so I decided to test it.

Record#

On the evening of November 14th, Thursday, my second child had a fever exceeding 38.5°C, with repeated fevers for 4.6 hours and a dry cough without phlegm. I took a day off on Friday and continued alternating between Melatonin, Ibuprofen, and Tylenol every 4-6 hours. Medication was given when the temperature exceeded 38.5°C, and the antibiotic used was Amoxicillin.

On the 15th, 16th, 17th, and 18th, Monday, it was strange; the fever continued to recur without stopping.
Dry cough without phlegm.
I originally planned to resume classes on Monday, but that seemed hopeless.
The mental state was okay, but there was no appetite.
I wanted to eat sweets.

My wife wondered if it was a mycoplasma infection.
I checked the information and found that Roxithromycin could be used.
Coincidentally, I had previously bought a bunch of low-generation antibiotics. Why low-generation? Antibiotics can develop resistance, and if high-generation antibiotics become resistant, it would be troublesome. Colds and fevers are not something one only gets once in a lifetime.

On Monday, I took Roxithromycin, and on Tuesday the 19th, I continued with Roxithromycin, with recurring fever.
On Tuesday night, my wife was anxious and said she wanted to go to the emergency room. I suggested going in the morning instead, as there are fewer doctors on duty at night and it’s cold.
Going to the hospital for tests is expensive; a blood test and chest CT would cost around 100.
I wanted to check the cost of testing for mycoplasma. It seems there are many videos on Bilibili. A regular swab test costs dozens and is not that expensive, with results in two days, but one has to wait. There’s also a more accurate biochemical test with many items, costing around 1000 yuan. If confirmed severe, hospitalization might be necessary. I let my wife take a look too.
I also researched the side effects of several major classes of drugs for mycoplasma, as well as their common usage and methods.
The symptoms were very similar, ruling out Kawasaki disease, which also involves recurrent fever and a dry cough without phlegm, but with symptoms like a red tongue and red palms.
Many content creators used Azithromycin, which I had just bought yesterday, but according to the delivery estimate, I would have to wait two more days.
So I went to Meituan to buy medicine and found the cheapest was around 2.5 yuan. The minimum order was 20 for delivery. I thought about picking it up myself; there were several pharmacies around the community, including Neptune and Tongfang. I hopped on my electric bike and set off. At the first pharmacy, Shuyu, the staff was busy with another customer. I went in and quickly found the shelves; antibiotics were sorted alphabetically. The cheapest was 4.9 yuan. When I asked if there was any Azithromycin cheaper than 4.9, she said no. I thanked her and decided to look around. Then I went to Tongfang Pharmacy and asked how much the cheapest Azithromycin was. She said 8.9, and I said I wouldn’t look any further. Thank you.

I headed straight to Neptune and found it was also open 24 hours. I asked if they had Azithromycin. The staff asked me as they walked, whether I wanted domestic or imported. I said domestic. They continued asking if it was for children or adults. I said for adults, the cheapest. The arrangement was quite chaotic, and the prices seemed scattered and unordered. Finally, I found Lu Kang’s Azithromycin for 4.9. I mentioned that I could buy it for around 2.5 on Meituan. She said I could place an order for pickup, but not at that price directly. I agreed, but when I took out my phone, I realized it was my wife’s phone. Other than the color, it was the same as mine, and she hadn’t installed Meituan. After installing it, I found I still had to meet a minimum order to place it. I guessed my wife, being a new user, had received a large coupon to buy Azithromycin suspension granules and Lu Kang’s Azithromycin for around 20. I thought that would be okay, but I still had to find a pharmacist for approval, and I had to pay 9.9 yuan first, which was annoying. I left.
Currently, the pharmacist’s prescription review on Taobao is free and fast.

On the way back, I found another Shuyu pharmacy. I went in and asked for the cheapest Azithromycin at 4.9. I said that was fine, then I provided my phone number to register as a member, checked out, and left.
