First, thanks to The Disintegrated Life Chronicles for the recommendation.
There isn't much to say about free hosting, after all, it's free. Still, I’ll shamelessly mention that some free hosting offers a 50MB database, which is fine, while others only provide 100MB-300MB of disk space. Slightly larger installation packages can't fit. Some require completing various tasks and promotions step by step. Free is the most expensive, not just in terms of data but also the time spent, etc.
LanDui Cloud, upon registering that day, found that it wasn't open; the interface indicated how many hours until it would open. The next day at four o'clock, it was available, went through the process, and I didn't know how many people were actually there. I applied for a virtual space from a telecom provider, asked if it was okay, and since it was domestic South Telecom, connected to Unicom, I agreed without hesitation.
After applying, I found that the control panel wasn't as smart as those from foreign servers; all operations were done via the web. Setting up WordPress generally takes a few minutes. All good. LanDui Cloud requires FTP, so I went to download FileZilla and Xftp8 (previously used Xshell with a free license, which felt fine too), both are comparable; perhaps I haven't used other features.
Reasons for Failure#
Installation failed for several days.
This zip file extraction was something I hadn't seen before; whether it succeeded or failed could be checked in the logs or by observing changes in the FTP directory.
I estimate that years ago, I uploaded files already extracted, which was indeed slow, and it’s still the same now. But it's okay; we just wait and don’t need to keep looking.
Don’t fill in anything for the extraction address; otherwise, it creates nested directories. WordPress files cannot be placed in a directory named "wordpress." After multiple failures, I discovered this by looking at the images. All files inside the WordPress directory must be copied directly to the root directory. This copying process took a long time. Just continue waiting. The reason for the failure was found. It wasn't a permission issue; it needed to be filed for record. The domain is already filed, but the space also needs to be filed. Suddenly enlightened. This is a domestic server, okay. Withdraw.
